Lakeland Christian Academy (LCA), treats all children as gifted children.
LCA uses an academically accelerated curriculum that can take children far
beyond their years while letting them enjoy the social and emotional connections
with other children of their own age.
ABeka Book Publications:
ABeka offers complete classroom curriculum
for Preschool through 12th grade.
ABeka is used by many private Christian
schools. It is a Christian based curriculum with Bible lessons included in
all lessons plans. ABeka is also
recognized for its Phonics Program.
Spiritual Emphasis:
Bible stories are taught at all age levels from 2 years old through 7th
grade. ABeka Bible Stories are covered, including 52 bible stories half
from the New Testament and half from the Old Testament. Supplemental
curriculum is used to support each story.
Chapel is held weekly with all students 3 years old through 7th grade
attending. Each week a brief object lesson or character lesson is covered.
All children enjoy a fun praise and worship time together.
Social Emphasis
Preschool through 7th Grade:
Children are introduced to the following Skill Developments along with the
Academic Scope for age level:
Character Development: Children learn the importance of
being courteous, polite, cheerful, and unselfish.
Health and Safety: Children learn the importance of getting
plenty of sleep, fastening their seat belts and other healthy and safety tips.
Community Helpers: Children will enjoy learning about
doctors, farmers, firemen, pastors and other community leaders.
Special Concentrations
K5 through 7th Grade:
Music is taught weekly. Children explore
music history, introduction to instruments and voice.
Spanish is taught weekly. Children learn both conversational
and formal Spanish.
Circle of Sciences is visited once a month for an off-campus
science lab. Students receive hands on studies in:

Life Science:
body, plants, and animals
Physical
Science: Chemistry, Physics, Electricity
Computer Lab: Students begin with mouse and keyboarding
skills. Older students are introduced to publisher and power point
programs. Computer lab is visited weekly. Computers are also provided
in the classrooms.
Art: Art class covers art appreciation as well as
two-dimensional and three-dimensional child created art. Art class is visited weekly.
Physical Education: Emphasis is on physical health through
organized games and activities designed to meet the physical needs of every
child. PE is visited weekly or bi-weekly.
Chapel is held once a week in the Children's Theater. The
children sing praise and worship songs and are taught a Bible lesson through
object lessons and character development.
